Does your ideal home feel collected rather than decorated? Whether you're shopping for the entryway or an extra space to sit at the end of your bed, our antique settee bench may be just what you envisioned.
Fashioned after a classic settee that would have been used in a Colonial Revival home, this authentic reproduction features all the incredible details one might expect from an original antique. The serpentine top rail, side rails, and splats are covered in hand-carved scrollwork, flecked with acanthus leaves and cartouches. Beneath the padded, coil spring seat, you'll notice the gently curved cabriole legs that terminate to ball-and-claw feet in keeping with tradition.
At Laurel Crown, how we build is just as important as what we build. Each Chippendale loveseat is handcrafted from start to finish using the finest plantation-grown Honduran mahogany. Mahogany was beloved by Thomas Chippendale, the celebrated craftsman after which this stunning settee is named. With a pleasing, straight grain that's free of defects or knots and a reddish-brown hue that tends to darken over time, the mahogany used to handcraft our Chippendale settee will add a tremendous amount of warmth to your home.
There are many ways to design your own antique settee bench:
- We offer cherry, oak, pine, rosewood, walnut, and other wood stains
- Ask that we antique or distress this loveseat to complement your home
- Add a custom paint color or gold leafing to help your new settee stand out
Although its traditional shape and intricate detailing make the Chippendale loveseat a statement piece in its own right, you can update any room with a pop of colorful upholstery. You are more than welcome to use your own material or you can choose an upholstery selection that speaks to your discerning taste. From luxurious velvet to elegant jacquard, the possibilities are endless. Please let us know if you have any questions about customizing our Chippendale settee.
