If you like to host a lot of dinner parties or family gatherings, extra storage space is essential. Our Chippendale-style sideboards are designed to add a sense of elegance and refinement to your dining room or den. Every Chippendale sideboard with ball-and-claw feet is carved, sanded, and finished by one of our master craftsmen, to ensure antique authenticity down to the minutest detail. We use only the finest Honduran mahogany, which was favored by Thomas Chippendale and other cabinetmakers throughout the eighteen centuries.
Our Chippendale servers feature an unmistakable, swirling grain pattern that’s only accentuated by a satin semi-gloss finish. Mahogany is less brittle than soft pine yet more flexible to work with than hard oak, but it is also revered for its dimensional stability and moderate rot resistance. The reddish-brown hue of your ball-and-claw sideboard will darken over time and complement a variety of wood tones.
All the Chippendale sideboards we handcraft are eligible for customization:
- Add an antiqued, distressed, or washed finish for a shabby-chic look
- Add a custom stain to balance other wood tones in a particular room
- Modify shelving to create extra storage space for formal dinnerware
