The enduring style of the classic Chippendale armchair has been a furniture collectors favorite for more than 200 years and adds elegance to any room in your home. Our master craftsmen have painstakingly replicated all the intricate details of this dining room armchair from an actual Chippendale antique to preserve the authenticity of the beloved style. The serpentine top rail, side rails, and splats of this chair are all covered in hand carved rocaille extending to the back of the chair. Unlike some simpler and less developed styles of Chippendale chairs, this chair has cabriole legs with the classic claw-and-ball feet as opposed to straight legs or the simpler scroll feet. In keeping with the period's authenticity, this chair is made from mahogany wood which was favored by Thomas Chippendale and is of higher quality than walnut or fruitwoods.
