Chippendale-style furniture draws inspiration from French, Chinese, or Gothic influences. Laurel Crown’s journey into Chippendale reproductions began nearly 30 years ago. Today, our desire to make handcrafted antique reproductions is stronger than ever. Each antique child’s armchair that we make is a testament to the elaborate characteristics of the Chippendale style in America. These miniature armchairs are perfect for playrooms, bedrooms, nurseries, or any place that a child enjoys spending time.
Our Chippendale child’s armchair can also be used for decorating with a focal point or displaying collectible dolls. We use only the finest Honduran mahogany to make each vintage child’s chair because it was preferred by Thomas Chippendale, the celebrated cabinetmaker after which these miniature chairs were aptly named. Honduran mahogany is beloved for its superior workability, dimensional stability, and moderate rot resistance. To accentuate the stunning and swirling grain pattern, we finish each antique child’s armchair with a satin semi-gloss finish that will gleam for years to come.
Every child’s Chippendale child’s armchair features classic details:
- Cabriole front legs that terminate to ball-and-claw feet
- Serpentine top rail with hand-carved acanthus scrollwork
- Upholstered seat in your choice of fabric, leather, or velvet
Our vintage child’s armchair is also customizable, so you can use your own stock fabric or material to match other textiles or patterns. You can also customize the stain of your new antique child’s armchair to complement other wood tones found within your home.
