Chairs from the Louis XVI period come in all shapes and sizes. This one gets its name from the horseshoe shaped arched top rail. Replicated from an authentic Louis XVI antique, this gorgeous and intricately carved chair has a splat fashioned into wheat shucks and plant and ribbon motifs carved around the rails. Like other Louis XVI chairs, the legs are straight and fluted with a rosette in frame on each knee. Needless to say, it is also very comfortable to sit in with its wide seat, coil spring cushion, and curved back. The upholstery in a striped ivory jacquard fabric with laced edging. The frame is made of solid mahogany wood and has been painted and distressed, but is also available in our classic mahogany finish.
